Our famous Raspberry Pi Workshop for Beginners is running again! Learn the basics of electronics and programming with the Raspberry Pi, a clever one-board working computer! This workshop will take you through the basics of programming with the Python programming language, and how to use those programs to control real circuits. Completing this course will introduce you to skills needed for home automation, Internet-Of-Things (IoT), robotics, software development, and more future technologies. Please RSVP by the 20th of May! This is a beginners course - we assume no previous knowledge of programming or electronics. If you do, however, we have some more difficult things you can do to extend the learning, but the focus will be on beginners. Note the format has changed from previous iterations. Build your own fighting robot with our workshop and test your skills at the upcoming Robot Fight Night! The Ballarat Area Robotics League (BARL) is having their first Robot Fight Night coming up on October 25th. To celebrate, and to get you into the competition, we are having a workshop to build a fighting robot base. Check out more information at www.barl.io . compatible with the antweight class for the first fight night, lots of weight to spare in the 150g weight class, uses a cost effective set of components at just $70 for the workshop, you get to keep the kit and the robot you build, and control the bot using an app on your phone and Bluetooth. The workshop is a community build style, where an instructor will take you through the initial build process, before we all spend some time improving our bots.
